So pink!! I love everything about this outfit. I do think Gwyneth dresses a bit on the young side. But it looks so good, I'm glad she does. Dress by Prada.

Sunburst dress
I love this dress, it's so sparkly and happy and sunshine-y. And I love that it looks as good on Heidi as it does on the runway... not all dresses translate as well. Excellent choice.

Nude Nails
I'm currently really liking nude nail polish... there's something about it that looks very sexy. So is Marc Jacobs, who hand-picked these four OPI colors for his spring fashion show:
From L to R, the colors are Malaysian Mist, Samoan Sand, Barefoot in Barcelona, and Dulce De Leche.
My toes are newly painted Barefoot in Barcelona (third from L), they were last OPI's Tickle My France-y (another nude color) and I just ordered Dulce De Leche (last from L) from my favorite store... Amazon.com
Ok, enough procrastinating (part of the joy of online shopping). Errands and studying await...

The Dartmouth Center for Health Care Delivery Science
Dartmouth College has received a $35 million commitment to establish The Dartmouth Center for Health Care Delivery Science, President Jim Yong Kim announced today. The anonymous gift will advance a new field of study, harnessing the knowledge and expertise of faculty across multiple disciplines from the arts and sciences as well as from the medical, business and engineering schools. It's truly amazing what President Kim has been able to accomplish in his year here so far. I am so, so, so impressed and so proud to be a part of the Dartmouth family. Can't wait to see what happens in the future.

Cannes
Oooh, what a dress on Fan Bing Bing at Cannes! Who makes it? It's looking all Murakami-like. Who is Fan Bing Bing?
Kraftwerk. Ridiculosities.
Anyone else want to plunge into the rich history/current state of German electronica?

Vimeo films
First off, I've uploaded my first video to Vimeo. Made it the other day for the AREA+Playcube screening, but now want to make more shorts like this and put them in a collection about Beacon Hill. Here it is:

Met Costume Institute
Favorites:
Mila Kunis in Vera Wang -- so cool!
Kerry Washington in Thakoon for Gap -- drape-y gorgeousness.
Blake Lively in Marchesa - omg is that short.
Katy Perry in... ? Haha! Love it.
David M. Rubenstein
“I analogize [private equity] to sex...You realize there were certain things you shouldn’t do, but the urge is there and you can’t resist.”[8]
- David M. Rubenstein speaking at Harvard Business School about the buyout bubble
Haha so this is why I was told I could not take any quotes when I heard David Rubenstein speak last term.
from Wiki:
David Rubenstein is the co-founder of The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm. In the 2008 Forbes 400 ranking of the wealthiest Americans, Rubenstein was ranked 155th with a net worth of $2.7 billion.[1]
GLEE: Review in The New Yorker
So spot on. I mean, I watch and like the show and everything, but I agree with the criticisms in this article.
http://www.newyorker.com/arts/critics/television/2010/05/10/100510crte_television_franklin?currentPage=2
Quotes:
"With several production numbers per episode, almost all of which have remarkably weak choreography and poorly synched lip-synching, the writers haven’t been able to go very deep into anyone’s life."
"Will’s wife, Terri, has to be the worst part that Jessalyn Gilsig has ever been given. She’s unaccountably unpleasant to Will, and she fakes a pregnancy for much longer than is credible."
"The episode in which many people’s affection for the show was cemented was the one in which it was revealed—briefly, in a moment done just right—that Sue had a human core; it was also an episode that was free of Terri and Emma, and thus didn’t leave you with a knot in your stomach."
"There is in “Glee” an element of creepiness, or, at least, sourness. Tonally, it hasn’t found its way yet. A teacher’s dismissal for touching a student inappropriately is treated as a joke. And Sue says to two doltish cheerleaders: “You may be the two stupidest teens I’ve ever encountered. And that’s saying something. I once taught a cheerleading seminar to a young Sarah Palin.” I get it that a group of teen-agers singing a choral arrangement of “Rehab” is notionally funny; unfortunately, watching it is notional fun. Still, “Glee” is well produced, and it works, even if some of the music, like high school itself, makes you roll your eyes and wish you were somewhere else."

Heels for work
A nice compromise:
Kate Spade
Karolina
Camel patent
$298.00
These are okay for work, right?
What about these:
Lorna
$89.00
Actually I'm pretty sure this would be pushing it. Mos def not okay.
Heels of prey
Finally, a pair of heels I'm genuinely terrified of:
McQueen, obviously.
But the real question is, where do I get that lovely jumpsuit?

Juxtaposed with some pairs I'd like to wear, from least to most probable:
Fendi
Prada
Devi Kroell
OK, that's enough for now. I'm clearly procrastinating studying.
invisible text message break up
Hahaha I couldn't resist...
Photo stolen from a Jezebel article about how people use fake texting to ignore each other etc. nowadays.

Zero--Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Going through a Yeah Yeah Yeahs phase right now. Y'all have probably been there and done that, but whatever. "Heads Will Roll" is obviously awesome, but I love this song too.
I've liked this song for a long time, too.

Werner Herzog + Where's Waldo?
Love this. Then again, I love anything that has to do with Werner Herzog. Thanks for sending this out, eg!
Turks & Caicos: J. Crew Style
I haven't shopped online in a long time, especially on the J. Crew site. But their new Paradise campaign is really pretty. Check it out here.
I love these items:

There are so many more pretty pics on the website! Check 'em out. I'd also like to pair these dresses with tank tops or t-shirts underneath (which I discovered J.Crew also instructs its shoppers to do...)

Whatever Happened...
No, this isn't another post about The Strokes or Jules. It's about this cartoon show and why programming like this doesn't exist anymore.
And I came across this in my random googling the other day...George Lucas is more of a sell-out than any of us could ever fathom.
Yeeeeeah.
