So pink!! I love everything about this outfit. I do think Gwyneth dresses a bit on the young side. But it looks so good, I'm glad she does. Dress by Prada.

Cannes
Oooh, what a dress on Fan Bing Bing at Cannes! Who makes it? It's looking all Murakami-like. Who is Fan Bing Bing?

Oscar Favorites
Zoe! Look how happy she looks to be wearing this confection. The colors, the sparkles, the textures... GORGEOUS! This was probably my favorite dress.
There's so much dress! I like that the dress extends way beyond her own body. (Armani Prive)
Simple and elegant but a little bit unexpected. The velvet is both contemporaneous and old school Hollywood. Well played.
Just a dreamy dress by Armani Prive -- floaty while still structured.
Predictable/expected, but she looks fabulous and well-styled, if a bit mature.
Diane Kruger does this style so well. She pulls it off.
Long sleeved. Jersey. Still looking good.
Washed out print.
A column of color! Good to see some COLOR! Plus I love Dries Van Noten, he is the master of prints.
This dress complements her body. She looks happy, comfortable, glamorous.
The color is meh but Victoria Beckham always works it. Her own design.
SJP, sparkle, pale gold, winner.

D&G (blows up my spot)
Good thing I bought those ski goggles, I've been ready for Fall 2010 since Winter '09- '10. D&G needs to catch up with me.
Oh and my ski helmet. I'm blowin' up the runway!
Ahh but this is so sick, actually. Why can't I dress like this all the time??

Badgley-Mischka
Verdict: So many different fabrics; all good.
Cozy AND pretty AND an interesting cut AND look at the ribbing of the sweater -- it's diagonal. I love this one! Hopefully a more mass retailer will create this exact dress for a fraction of the price. And I will buy it.
This wrap/belt/tights/heeled boots look? Flattering and totally do-able. I like that.

I choose you, Couture!
Remember when I said one of those conceptual shoes reminded me of a polygon? Here's a series of similar comparisons made by blogger John at Textbook. Whoever he is, he is so cute!!
His photo collage:
His accompanying commentary:
"1: armani prive and ninetails: the gathers on this dress, the detailing on the neckline and the femininity of it all match up to ninetails pretty well.
2: alexis mabille and dragonair: the seamless blue column, the sheer neck and even the hair are reminiscent of this graceful dragon pokemon.
3: givenchy and jigglypuff: she’s wearing a jigglypuff, i swear to god.
4: chanel and jolteon: the sharp collar, jewel detailing and vibrant nature of this piece are a perfect fit for jolteon (evolved form of eevee when you use a thunder stone, duh)
5: christian dior and articuno: grey breasted bird with long regal tail? can you even tell if i’m talking about the model or the pokemon? it’s especially fitting because articuno is one of the legendary pokemon, just as galliano and dior are legendary.
it’s not so far fetched to think of these light-hearted similarities. have a great day all.
*note to pokemon fans: this is limited to the original 151 pokemon because i stopped playing after pokemon sapphire"

Shoes Tumblr
This weekend, Fay recommended a new music site to me which her friend recently introduced to her (Skreemr), only to have me respond: "Yeah, I added that link on the blog ages ago, did you never see it?... did you friend happen to find it on OUR BLOG?" Lolz all around. In that light, I'll make a note from now on when I add a link to other blogs on the side menu.
Here is an amazing one to peep at aspirational shoes:
I'm not 100% sure what the tumblr program is, but I'm so happy right now that it exists.
Here are two featured shoes of note (ones I particularly like/would enjoy owning):
1.
Immediate thoughts:
1. Reminds me of faceted jewels
2. Reminds me more of Polygon from Pokemon
Okay, so I might have thought the latter one first. Hush.
2.
I just want to try these on, no harm no foul.
Until someone breaks an ankle, that is.
Ahh, okay just a few more:
3.
These shoes aren't all THAT special, but could you just imagine how cheerful you'd feel every time you wore these super sparkly heels?
I mean come on, they're bejeweled!
4.
Not unlike this pair from Brian Atwood here.
I'd imagine this is instant happiness in a shoe, if such a thing exists.
5.
I love bows, particularly on shoes.
This entry in a nutshell: I really like colorful, clever, sculptural shoes. Sometimes with bows. This was a rather self-indulgent entry, I realize.

Nicholas Kirkwood
makes some of the most architectural, beautiful, interesting shoes I've seen.
Sick silhouette exhibited in the entire Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Well done. Proof that shoes can always be reinvented.
edit: haha look what else I've found online [after I posted my comments]: Nicholas Kirkwood debuted his shoe collection in 2005, and has been a force in the industry ever since. His shoe philosophy follows:
“It’s about silhouettes… It’s about the shape of the last and about the shape of the actual pattern that’s drawn onto the last, and color or material combinations. I don’t use anything that’s stuck onto the shoe. In certain ways it’s architectural, I suppose. Old-fashioned buildings like to be very decorative on the outside, but the basic shape is still a block, whereas modern buildings are more concerned about the actual shape of the building itself, rather than what’s put on as ornamentation. That’s sort of the way I try to think of my shoes in a sense, especially when it comes to the heels.”

Burberry
I love their jackets. I love their perfumes. And now... THEIR HEELS.
And this dress. I think it's just made of sparkles and all that is good and Burberry. Amen.
