TV in the 00's

I forgot we were at the end of a decade. Anyway, read this piece in NYMag about TV and how it has dramatically changed over the past 10 years (reality TV boom, HBO, Showtime)

    this applies to video games too! think of all the childhood games we grew up on in 90s/early 00s (I don't know who you are but I'm assuming you're of the same age of me and jean)... games used to revolve around the concept of this under-dog hero saving the day/princess, or small animals are going on "adventures" .. eating magical mushrooms and being invincible ..... where as current video games/just like movies hitting the big screen are hyper realist. graphics are constantly mimicking what we seee but obviously over-dramatized. even the angle where the "video camera" of most fighting games convey , which provokes the idea that in actuality its you in control, you're the "hero", rather than watching the small characters like koopa, mario, or yoshi, run from left to right on the screen.
