This was by far the best season EVER of SYTYCD. Not only were all of the dancers in the top ten skilled, but they had great hearts, too. Russell won, even though Jakob was my favorite, but both dancers were absolutely beautiful. Russell also rep'd Boston, which was fun to watch.
I thought that the choreographers this season were much better, too, probably due in part to the amazing capabilities of the contestants. Their taste in music also improved. My favorites were Travis from season 1 (he should've won) and Sonya Tayeh. They both had mohawks and chose great music, including Portishead and Lykke Li. I haven't listened to Portishead too much, but I loved the dance Travis choreographed to it and want to look into more of their music.

The portishead song was certainly abstract, electronic and seemingly 'fetish-filled'. Personally, I can't identify any artistic effort. Sounds like one of the songs we put together on our old Macintosh LCIII. The repetitive drum sound effects were overly relied on, and random 'Dido' moaning does the trick....NOT!
